It comes with the brand new Apple A15 Bionic SoC. This strong processor is able to provide a 40% faster CPU and 80% faster GPU as compared to the previous generations. However, it was an expected development because of the time it took for the refresh to arrive. Apple claims that the brand new iPad Mini is 3X faster than the top Chromebooks and 6X faster than the top tier Android tablets.
It has an 8.3-inch liquid Retina display in the same compact footprint just as the previous generation. The display contains thin bezels, and it uses Touch ID for unlocking the device. Talking about the camera department, it has received a new ultrawide capable shooter on the front side.
This smallest iPad also receives landscape speakers, a Type-C port, Wi-Fi 6, and a 5G cellular. The Type-C port also allows 20W fast charging. Apple has introduced new smart folio covers for iPad mini, available in multiple color variations. Along with these features, Apple Pencil 2 support has also been included in this device.
Price and Availability
Talking about the price, the introductory price of the iPad Mini is $499 for the GPS model that comes in with an onboard storage capacity of 64 GB. In the US, the cellular version of the device starts at $649. It is available for orders on Apple’s official website and in retail stores.
