Paytm strives to make digital payments quick and simple for its users. Paytm has gone one step further in making online money transfers easy for its users by allowing them to add their bank account details and link Paytm account with bank account.
If you link Paytm account with bank account, you can execute several transactions in a matter of seconds using UPI (Unified Portal Interface). Furthermore, you will not be required to provide your bank information every time you complete a transaction. Simply choose the receiver’s phone number from your phone’s contact list and do the payment in the comfort of your home.
However, it is critical that you create a Paytm account using the same phone number that you use to register for your bank account. A UPI ID will be generated as soon as you create a Paytm account. You can also add multiple bank accounts on Paytm and have separate UPI IDs for each one. However, Paytm selects one of the several bank accounts you enter as your default bank account, which you can change as needed.
Steps to Link Paytm Account with bank account
To begin, you must create/sign up for a Paytm account in case you do not already have one. When you register your Paytm account for the first time, you have the option of linking your bank account. You can either link Paytm account with bank account now or later after filling out additional details.
Paytm takes you to a new page when you select the Link My Bank Account option. You can select from a variety of banks located throughout the country. Also, you can search for the bank with which you have an account or let Paytm find it for you. It identifies if you have an account with a specific bank with the same number as your Paytm account.
Your bank account associated with your phone number will be retrieved and displayed on the screen. If you have a Paytm account already and want to add/link a new bank account to it; you can follow these steps:
- Launch the Paytm app and navigate to the Profile section. Then, click on UPI & Payment Settings.
- Now, click on UPI & Linked Bank Accounts option.
- The following screen will display all of your linked bank accounts with the Paytm app. When you scroll down, you will see the option of New Bank Account, click on that option.
This will take you to a screen with a list of banks from which you may choose your bank and enter the details to add to your Paytm profile. The Paytm app will retrieve your account information associated with your mobile number and will link Paytm account with bank account on its own.
After that, you can send and receive money, pay bills, recharge, shop, and use numerous Paytm services at the same time. You can now use your Paytm app to pay your credit card bills!
