Apple never disappoints us when it comes to new features. Recently, Apple added a new feature that you can use Apple Watch to unlock iPhone.
In November 2017, with the launch of the iPhone X; Apple also launched a new feature that time which was Face ID recognition system that allowed its users to unlock their phone with the help of their face which was a simpler way to unlock the phone rather than using a Touch ID.
But during this pandemic, we all have to wear a mask while we are outside or in public places. So, it becomes difficult for people to use a face recognition system to unlock their phones as they have to remove their masks whenever they have to unlock their phones. It became tedious for people to remove their masks now and then to unlock their phones.
So, here the feature in which you can use the Apple Watch to unlock your iPhone will benefit you. You can unlock your phone with the help of an Apple watch via Face ID through a partial face scan when you are wearing a mask. It is similar to the process of unlocking a Mac with an Apple watch.
You will receive a buzz notification on your watch informing you that the procedure of unlocking is successful. Before you start using this new feature you have to make sure that you are either running the public betas; or the developer betas of iOS 14.5 and watchOS 7.4.
After that, you will need the Apple Watch and iPhone profiles from Apple’s beta testing website, and after you have installed them you can update your iPhone by going to settings and you can update your Apple Watch by installing iOS 14.5 and then launching the Apple Watch application on your iPhone.
Things you need to use this feature?
- iPhone that has Face ID in it.
- Apple Watch Series 3 or newer version.
- Your iPhone should be having an iOS 14.5 version and Apple Watch should be having watchOS 7.4 version.
