WhatsApp is working on a future update of the app for WhatsApp chat backups. WhatsApp has Google Play Beta Programme through which it is working on a new update. The new update will help Android users. It is expected that it will soon be released for beta testing as well. The update is Android 2.22.20.10.

Android users can export and import their WhatsApp chats from their Google Drive. WABetaInfo has revealed that the new feature will enable Android users to back up chats whenever they are setting up a new WhatsApp account.

Android users can access the copy of their WhatsApp backup with all media and chats shared on the app. Users are required to update their Android phones whenever a new feature rolls out in the market. WABetaInfo has shared a screenshot that shows a new option.

When a user login into WhatsApp from another device or re-installs the app on the same device, he will see a new option of ‘import’. This option will enable the user to import the exported backup.

The user will be able to import the backup even when he does not have a Wi-Fi connection. With the new feature, the process will become easy and users will not be dependent on third-party cloud storage platforms.
