Steps To Whisper On Twitch
Whisper on Twitch is not the same as ‘Chat Stream’ or ‘Chat Channel.’ Viewers post messages in these locations that anybody can read and comment too. On Twitch Mobile App
- On your phone, open Twitch and tap the symbol with a Speech bubble in the top right corner. The Whispers button is located here.
- To start whispering, tap the Start a conversation option.
- Now, a Search screen will display. In the search field, enter the username of the person you wish to whisper on Twitch, and from the list of results, select the correct username.
- The standard chat interface will now appear. Type your message and whisper it to the person on the other end!
On Desktop
- On your PC, open Twitch and move on to the top right corner of the screen and click the Whispers icon with a pointy speech bubble.
- In the Search for people text field, enter the username of the individual you want to whisper to. To start a chat, click on the relevant search result.
- To the downright of the screen, a little chat box appears. You can now whisper the person on Twitch, which is essentially direct communications.
Adding A friend While Whispering
On mobile
- You will see an icon with a silhouette of a person’s bust and a + mark, tap on it.
- The username has now received your friend request. To accept a friend request from someone else, simply hit the Tick button to the very right of their username. Tap the prohibition sign present next to the tick mark if you want to decline.
On the desktop application
- To add the person you’re sending whisper on Twitch as a friend, go to the top right of the chatbox ribbon and click the Settings button (gear icon). From the settings menu, choose Add friend.
- The Add friend option has been replaced by a pending request notification. Once the other person accepts your request, you will become friends.
How To Stop Strangers From Whispering?
Anyone who isn’t your buddy, follower, someone who provides you subs (subscriptions), Twitch moderator, or editor is a stranger on Twitch. On the Twitch mobile and desktop programs, the technique for blocking strangers’ whispers differs slightly.
On the smartphone application
Whisper settings can be accessed through a whisper on Twitch or through your account settings. On the whisper screen, click on the Settings button (tool icon) to the right of the username’s ribbon to block strangers’ whispers.
Alternatively, you can go to Settings > Security and Privacy > select the Block Whispers from Strangers option. Make sure the toggle on this option is purple, not grey.
On the desktop application
Select Settings from the drop-down menu by clicking your user profile button in the top right corner of the screen. The General settings page will appear. On this page, select the Security and Privacy tab. The Privacy area can be found by scrolling through the Security and Privacy screen. Now, click the toggle next to Block Whispers from Strangers option.
When an unknown person tries to whisper to you, they will be informed of your settings to prevent strangers from whispering to you.
How To Hide Twitch Whispers?
There is no way to delete whispers on Twitch. You can instead hide or archive them. On the desktop app, archiving a whisper thread is easier than on the mobile version. Regardless, they’re both simple.
On the mobile app
- Long-tap on the whisper you wish to erase to remove it then select Hide from the drop-down option.
- A whisper on Twitch can also be hidden from the discussion screen. To begin, you need to go to the top right corner of your chat screen and tap the Settings button (tool symbol).
- Then, in the settings options, choose Hide.
- To confirm your choice, tap Yes on the next screen.
The whisper on Twitch has now vanished. If the concealed username whispers to you again you will notice it again. If you’re on Twitch, tap the Reply button in the timed notification present at the top of the screen to directly answer all whispers.
On the desktop application
In the top right corner of the screen, click the Whisper button with a pointy speech bubble. Choose the whisper you want to archive. Hover your mouse over it and click the trashcan icon, which is also known as the Archive thread button.
The thread has been archived and is now hidden.
