The media is cluttered with the news featuring the ban of 59 Chinese Apps, including TikTok. The Chinese Video Making App had gained immense popularity amongst the youth and content creators of the country. Recently, the Indian Government decided to state a ban on all Chinese Applications as it was causing a threat to the safety and security of the country.
The IT Ministry has quantified that these Apps have been violating the privacy policy and further; had been sharing personal data on servers outside the Indian borders. The sudden ban of TikTok has disappointed a lot of TikTokers and left them with a major question – Will TikTok come back in India?
Will TikTok Come Back In India?
As of now, there is no news of TikTok making its comeback in India anytime soon. History has it, this is not the first incident that a Chinese App has been banned in India. Earlier, TikTok was banned in India as children were being exposed to adult content. However, the App made its comeback on the App Store and Play Store by bringing forth necessary changes.
After the recent ban of TikTok, the company appealed that the company has not compromised any information beyond the country borders; and complied with all the privacy rules and regulations. The head of TikTok in India, Nikhil Gandhi has been invited by the Government Authorities to clarify certain matters and respond to certain questions. On that note, technically, there is a glimmer of hope for TikTok to come back to India.
Existing users will also not able to access and use the App. However, new users will not be able to download the App as it is no longer available on the Play Store and App Store. By any chance; the existing users decide to uninstall the App, they will no longer be able to access the same.
Furthermore, the App will not get any updates or patches and will remain dormant in nature until further news. In the future, whether the App will ever make its comeback or this is the final verdict for TikTok; we will soon know.
